I built something...

Soooo... I've been amusing myself with downloading small house plans and then building them in Sims 2. This is going to be just a picspam because my total lack of decorating and landscaping skill means that this house should never see the light of day other than inside my game. I felt so extremely embarrassed after uploading my TS2 version of ( Read more... )

It always amuses me that some striking and creative designs in the Real World can be so different and impractical in the Sims universe! That said, I really like this lot for its individuality, and as a Player you can decorate, tweak and change everything to fit the personal owner, which is always a plus :)

I can't wait to see what you will get up to in Belladonna cove - of the Later Maxis 'hoods, it's one of my favourites!

I checked in with all the families in Belladonna Cove last night and decided to play in alphabetical order since everyone was more or less synced to Monday morning (except Carlos Contender who's set to Monday afternoon). So I'm starting with the Baldwins. I usually play 1 sim week per rotation but this time I'm doing 1 season per family. There are 13 families in the hood so it would take too long per rotation to play a whole week. 5 days is doable, though, and will keep things moving.

I really like that lot and the one I built in TS2 doesn't actually look all that different to the one in the plans. I chose the plans because they translate well into the Sims universe and the houses are playable with very minor tweaking of the layout.

It looks lovely, I love the open space and its unique style.
Btw, I liked your Waylon's Haunt! Please keep building...

Thanks :) I really liked the plans and they translated so well into TS2 that I just had to build this house for Chloe and Lola.

Thanks for saying that you liked my version of Waylon's Haunt. Unfortunately this doesn't translate to other people liking it. I've decided to use it in my game, anyway. It should suit the more urban style of Belladonna Cove. I might copy you and put in a functioning kitchen, turn it into a restaurant. It's a place that actually has it all - food, entertainment, basic facilites - and I think it will be one of my favourite places to visit with my sims.

It does have it all! I just cleaned out my DL folder and am starting over, and Waylon's definitely getting installed! Btw, Mts2 rejected my version, LOL. I'm ok with it. I build for me and love to share, if someone doesn't like one of my lots, it's ok too!

I can't believe MTS rejected yours! Waylon's is a great lot, yours, mine or the TS3 original. It's one of my favourite places to visit in TS3, too.

I put in everything to make mine into a restaurant and sent a sim to it last night. The sim had fun, made new acquaintances and could have had a meal had she been hungry. She also lost 100 bucks gambling. Great night all around :)

ETA: The Cordial sisters are card sharps, btw. Obviously being friends with witches pays because between them they totally cleaned out the table.

Great house, with a downtown Sims 3 feel to it. I really loved your Waylon's Haunt, too!

Very cool. I like seeing interesting layouts on Strangetown buildings. It matches with the overall feel of the hood.

I also think you could share this. It's nicely done. Not every lot need landscaping, afterall. Especially not those in the desert! ^_^
