It seems like a very long time since I've posted any fic. The muse deserted me, there for awhile, like the evil thing she is. I think I have too much on my plate and I'm close to panicking with the approach of whenboymeetsboy *whine* Oh why, oh why did I ever sign up for a deadline thingy. As sad as I am that Tom's dead THIS CHAPTER WINS. Jared and his FEELINGS for Jensen and Jensen being guilty because someone was killed in his place and GOD I can't wait for more. :D :D

Things will be getting more interesting between them soon. Jensen's already got a little hint how yummy Jared is. And Jared. Hmph! The man wants his solid ghost now! Dreams aren't nearly enough for him anymore.

I'm sorry for killing Tom before he even got a line. But it had to be someone about Jensen's size. I know he's taller, but in all the clamor of a famous person being murdered, nobody thought to check the victim's height.

I think Jensen's cabin's decor and location reveal what a genuine and natural kind of peson he is, with the more sophisticated touches here and there (like the art) show the veneer he's had to pick up from the bizness. Same with his apartment-beautiful stuff, but classy. And since he doesn't strike me as a wild party guy with tons of guests over, I doubt he shows off much (but that's speculation ( ... )

I'm super glad you like the decor. I love describing the places people live, the way it reveals facets of their personality.

You're right. Jensen's not a party person, though he attends them when forced; the way Jim forced him to go to the book launch.

I don't want Jensen to think Jared is a sleaze. Maybe I'm tilting the movie a little. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I don't remember Laura finding the detective drunk at her cabin. It would be pretty noir if she did. Maybe I should rewrite? (falls down and oh noes). :D

Yup. I was aware I switched povs. Did it on purpose. Now that Jensen's a real part of the mix, I wanted to get his side of things. But I probably didn't do it enough to get that idea across. Fail me. I'll try to do better next chapter.

Laura walked in on Mark at her apartment, after he'd been drinking her booze and mooning over her portrait again. Great first impression, no? :D

It's better that you *don't* just imitate the movie, scene for scene, or what's the point of an au? You've got the *feel* of the noir mystery, which is what's important!

I agree. It would be boring and a waste of time to just redo everything scene by scene.

The feel is the thing, and I have to give you a great big hug for saying I've got it! Yay!
