Ah, pinche wey.
No me chingues (literally, no me chingues!).
Yeah, definitely sexual harassment. I think it's true, too, that if P were a girl instead of a gay guy, no one would have said anything. Since I don't know these people, I can't say for sure, but I think odds are good that it was less about P being gay and more about D being a guy. People seem to think that you can't be sexually harassed if you're a man, which is really fucked up.
People seem to think that you can't be sexually harassed if you're a man, which is really fucked up. EXACTLY. And that's one of my examples on how sexism fucks men too.
normally I'd say that if you have to preface anything with "I'm not [insert -ist or -phobe here]," you are in fact saying something [insert -ist or -phobic here]. But this isn't one of those cases. That's harassment, although I'll openly admit that what D experienced is not anything like any woman being sexually harassed or a queer man being sexually harassed, because sexual harassment of women is pretty fucking socially acceptable (i.e., a lot of what is actually sexual harassment isn't labeled as such, ergo it is acceptable/ignored; at least, that's what it's like in the U.S.) and queer men have much less of an opportunity to talk about being sexually harassed because it usually involves outing themselves
( ... )
LOL my title was to be read in an ironic way... I mean... I think it's a well-known fact that I'm not a homophobe :\
Now, I'm not talking about SOCIETY, I'm talking about this particular party, and this particular group of friends in this very specific situation. I know that if one of the girls had been the one being harrassed, nobody would have allowed that to happen. These kids might be kind of annoying at times, but they're not assholes (also, this was more like, a gathering of friends than a party). They also know that D is "man enough" (<- I'm aware I'm using a sexist expression here) to put up with P's advances, so I do believe that they too are all aware that it is not the same to harrass a dude than a girl. But still. Society and priviledges and advantages and everything else, what P was doing was really shitty. And I repeat, this is not the first time it's happened. Also, D told me that P DID jump in bed with him after he was asleep.
Fair enough. Sorry, every time I read or hear that someone is at a "party" I think of those huge parties where everyone's drinking etc., and those tend to be breeding grounds for all kinds of misogynistic bullshit. Gathering with friends...that's different.
Also, D told me that P DID jump in bed with him after he was asleep.
o____________o NOT FUCKING COOL. aaaaaaaagh this guy sounds like he has issues respecting people's space, wishes, etc. I also missed the part where he had done it before...urgh people why do they do this. :(
yeah... this wasn't nice... and I know he and my brother have kissed. I'm pretty sure he's the one who started it (o course, my brother must have been curious [he was sober BTW]). He's not really good person. He's never been like "nice" to me, and he's a former junky. The kind that did hardcore stuff. And then offered it to people. And mocked them if they rejected them :\
