Painting Dreams and Holiday Cards

A friend posted these shoes yesterday and they totally took over my thoughts. I fell in love. I fell in love enough that I bought a pair of high-top Converse shoes from Zappo and they are on their way to me. Yesterday afternoon was spent with small, stolen moments at my computer researching a variety of paints and techniques for painting on

I am registered on NaNo, but under my writing name (non-Tolkien related): ColoradoGal76.

As for the excited squee, that could be several things, but all good. It could be the shoes, it could be the holiday card, it could be winter - well, no, probably not winter - LOL. If it is shoes, I don't expect to get to the painting until after Solstice. If it is wanting a card (which I hope you do) then PM me your mailing addy, and if it is winter...well,then you're a strange person - LOL.

I saw those, too - wonderful! I have a friend who used Nike's 'design your own' service - but they were certainly not like those!

We are having a lovely autumn at present - it seems weird to be thinking of cards and mid-winter - but you have given me a timely reminder that it is certainly time to begin thinking that way...

I was talking about the shoes with an LJ friend yesterday and mentioned something about painting my own. She agreed and the hook was set. Before I knew it I was ordering a pair of Converse and planning designs. I'm totally crazy!

I think I'd better practice on a cheaper set of sneakers first. Maybe it's time for a trip to Target or the second-hand store...
