To Rapture or not to rapture

I don't believe in Rapture. It sounds like a shifty way for christians to get out of suffering for Christ. I mean, when was the last time any of you truly suffered . The bible says we will have to carry our cross,and, the rapture wasn't introduced until the late 1800s by a western/american preacher. till that point know one talked about it.
