[he'd been 'good' long enough, and it's left a bad taste in his mouth. The acid tang of failure and disappointment and restlessness. So... he is hardly surprised when he finds himself snatching mentally at a stray presence on the edge of town and drawing them to him. It was nearly an accident, really. An instinctual reaction. One that he won't be ( Read more... )

[She was just walking around the village, like she usually did almost every day since she arrived. Today she'd lost track of time and had wandered over near CH6. Nothing special, really.

... Until she feels something unusual, suddenly finding herself falling over. Her senses are naturally heightened, but it's not doing anything for her legs being taken over by pain.]

[it's as though her legs are simply deciding on their own to disobey her, the nerves and tendons pulling against her will. First locking up, fighting any commands she gives them... and then the sensation begins to spread to her arms. Just enough to begin to push her unsteadily to her feet again]

[It doesn't take long for the panic to start flooding into her once it comes to her attention that she's not making herself move. Something else... She'd never learned anything that could combat this type of attack, so starts to rise up unsteadily, trying to push past her emotions feebly in an attempt to stop.

Too bad it's not working.]

[whatever it is, it lets go of her arms once she's balanced on her feet, focused only on her legs and briefly sneaking into any other muscles needed to help keep her balance. And then, without her orders, those legs start walking on their own-- turning her path deeper into the forest]

[A small part of the panic begins to evolve into fear, because she's so focused on trying to regain control of her limbs that trying to determine her surroundings has been bumped down in priority. All she knows is that she's moving, but has no idea which direction. A small squeak escapes her, but Kaori is determined not to let her negative emotions show through.]

[the lower half of her body heedlessly continues its march, guiding her carefully and quickly through the trees, picking up speed the deeper those mental fingers sink into the muscles of her limbs.

Eventually, her legs will bring her to a clearing. In said clearing, sitting lazily on the trunk of a fallen tree and staring at nothing, is a tall man dressed in a very...unique...white coat. Hello there, friend.]

[It would indeed be a very unique coat if she could see it, but as it is all she can tell is that there's someone else in the clearing she's been led to, likely the one who is causing all this in her body. So she's sending a glare his way, clearly this is just an act of bravado.]

[it would perhaps be an act of bravado if she was the intended audience. But, as it is, he intends her to be nothing but a prop in this little show. So, she is brought before him and her legs painfully contort--bending to attempt to bring her to her knees--without him so much as addressing her]

[If she knew what she was being used as a prop for she would definitely put up more of a fight. But as it is she's forced to do what he wants, hitting the ground hard - she hadn't felt physical pain like this in several years. She's still sending a glare his way, though.]

What's the big idea?!

[he lets go of everything but her legs, which are still bent solid in a kneeling position. He'll spend a little bit of time perusing the journal before making his entry, now. Utterly ignoring her]

[Which she is not pleased with at all, considering she has no idea where she is in what she's assuming is the forest and still has no control of her legs. That doesn't keep her from trying, though.]

[the struggles finally get somewhat annoying, and her arms are pulled insistently behind her back]

[when he finally speaks, it's quiet and calm. Almost reassuring] It will be easier for you if you sit still, you know.

[That almost hurt, but her focus is set on Legato now that he's talked. So it's a male.]

... What's going on at all?

Nothing you need to be concerned about.

It's not my concern when it's my body being subjected to it? [Something is telling her that she should really stop talking before it goes too far.]
