I love this post. I'm definitely going to look for this book. I already have e. e. cummings' complete collection of poems, and love it. And actually, my copy went through my house fire but I loved it enough I had to save it. Plus, it was $60. So, the book is covered in smoke damage, but I think it gives it a sort of different quality.

One of my favorite poems, but I have many:
Tumbling-hair
picker of buttercups
violets
dandelions
And the big bullying daisies
through the field wonderful
with eyes a little sorry
another comes
also picking flowers

I've been wanting to get my hands on his complete collection of poems for a while now. How many poems are in it, roughly?

oh my...it's 1078 pages of poems. I'd easily say around 900ish. Most of his poems are only one-pagers. I definitely recommend it, but I would have bought it on amazon if I was thinking clearly. Like I said, it was about $60 when I first bought it. Now, you can get it for like $30 new on amazon and $14 used.

I need to read and write more poetry and prose. Mostly, I'm just writing articles or rambles. This, I hope, inspires me to do more. I need to read more of e.e. cummings' work. I especially love "i carry your heart" and "i like my body when it is with your body." Thank you for posting. ♥

You're welcome! I love those too (obviously, haha), but especially:

"this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart"

from 'i carry your heart', and:

"i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur"

from 'i like my body...'

♥ Oh I'm so late in catching up with everything, guh. I love all your posts and I'm so glad that you put up more e.e. cummings poetry, and also his prose! (Which I didn't know existed.) Our of the poems, I think I like 'i like my body when it is with your body' and 'in the middle of a room', the former having studied it in school (and also the true bareness of what attraction is) and the latter for the third line which always catches my eye and makes my mind wonder.

(And I haven't forgotten about Cat Powers! ..I just haven't been on the computer for long enough to actually listen to enough and give you a good opinion of what I like best. But the weekend is coming up and I think I'm going to stay at home and just chill. )

I love this comment! It's so wonderful to be friends with people who appreciate the same things, and I feel exactly the same way about those two poems.

(And no worries, take your time ♥)
