I have a serious Pokemon related question.

Similar to my Gundam question from a few months ago.
In the Pokemon world, Pokemon are animals. They run wild but it is in their nature to be captured, trained, and domesticated. Some are plant based, some are...ghost...based, and others are made out of smoke or lightning.
So I guess my question, which is somewhat related to these things, is are

Me too! And on top of it, they are all OBSESSED with these animals. Doesn't that seem culty and weird for an entire world to behave that way?

Yes. Quite odd. Maybe they're all druids. I wonder what religion they are, if those filthy heathens have any spiritual practice at all.

I suspect they raise and breed people to eat. Pokemon are too valuable as beasts of burden to actually eat.
