OK, so I had my second surgery 5 days ago. It was your typical lap only this time much more extensive. For the first three days it was surgical pain and CO2 pain. Yesterday I had my cramps return. Today they are ten times worse. And yes I can clearly distinguish between the various sources of pain. I wasnt given any meds post op- just what I take ( Read more... )

I'm sorry you have to know how I feel. It isnt necessary to say a specific thing. Acknowledgement is surprisingly empowering. How are you?

I had the worst period of my entire life a few days after my lap (although at least I had better drugs than usual), and I was not good for much other than lying on the sofa or in bed for more than a week. Don't assume that the surgery was a failure - it's months too soon to know one way or another. Not much of a consolation at the moment, though, is it?

Hope you feel better soon.

I absolutely agree with this. I found some of my worst pain came in the days following the lap. So much trauma has happened to your insides from the surgery that this is pretty much to be expected, or so I've been warned by my doctor.

You're in my thoughts.

Thanks. It is good to know I am not the only one who took more time to heal. Sometimes I think I just heal slower, but then I remember I was sliced up and I think I am doing pretty good in my better moments.

I cant wait til I start to feel better. It's the hope. Thanks for being nice :) It definitely helps. The only thing that strikes me as abnormal is that my painkillers are not working.

well i didn't have pain return that fast post op. going to the bathroom was a problem post op because the morphine and vicodin made me so constipated. i am currently taking vicodin for pain and i've found that if i drink Benefiber twice a day...i can go with no problem. it's tasteless and odorless and it works...you can get it at the grocery store.

ultimately...the pain IS back. i have a very hard time with bathroom issues and my new doctor says he thinks my uterus is likely stuck to my intestines from the surgery. it's worse now than it was pre-lap. i surely hope that isn't the case for you.

i hope you get some relief from pain soon.

Constipation wasnt the issue- i eat a lot of fibre being a veggie. I get severe pelvic cramping with BM's- my endo is all over it. So i guess that it makes sense that it would hurt so much more post-op. Its just amazing that its nearly umnbearable. My uterus was attached to my rectal wall for a long time, before my first surgery and the pain continued and worsened starting about 4 months after the last surgery. it sucks.

I hope you are having a symptom-free day!
