I don't remember the specifics, but I've read that a diet low in any fattening dairy or red meat can help. I also try not to eat that much soy, as that can mess with estrogen levels. I don't know if this will help significantly, but it's something to keep in mind.
Thank you, that's definitely something to keep in mind. I found through the years, any time I had soy it felt like it was messing up my system. I know it hurts me in the same way wheat does, and cutting that out has helped hugely with the digestive problems, but sadly only a little in the endometriosis pain area.
So is it not all dairy that we should avoid, just certain types?
I avoid additives, as I've read they're super bad for endo sufferers. I know some certainly hurt the hell out of my gut.
I've just read to eat nonfat or at least low-fat dairy when you can. I try to avoid additives, too, but I never knew they were specifically bad for endo- good to know! I read in one article months back that some people with endo tend to be more sensitive to chemicals than others, which is definitely true for me. I've switched to pretty much all natural or 'green' cleaners, other than laundry and dish soap or glass cleaner.
I know a lot of folks don't do well with sugar of any kind but especially high fructose corn syrup and what I call white carbs - white flour, pasta, rice, etc. I would try severely limiting those from your diet
alos, I know many who find dairy doesn't help either (which is so hard as OMG CHEESE!)
Wow, that's really good! I'd thought about going to see a naturalist (is that right?) to see what they might be able to suggest I try, and after reading that I'll be sure to check with one of the natural health shops in town and see if they know of anyone in town who might be able to help.
not sure about what you think is a natural hormone treatment (as birth control is all hormones)
I guess just anything, hormones or not, that will aide in balancing things internally and aiding in the either the endometriosis and pain side, or even just the pain. Especially from ovulation onward to the week after my period. Those are three awfully hellish weeks.
And thank you! For both your time, and the good luck wish :)
I Had some success with an herb called Vitex for a while...but really, the most success I had was in terms of managing pain- Sam-E and MSM both really helped me pain wise for a while.
i'm not a big red meat eater anyway, but i do try to avoid it. in the past when i do eat it, i notice an increase in my pain for a day or two. same with dairy, which also wreaks havoc on my digestive system. if you search for endometriosis on amazon/barnes and nobles, there's 2 books about natural healing and diet changes that a lot of women have found helpful.

I got off ALL hormones as it just screwed me up more - not sure about what you think is a natural hormone treatment (as birth control is all hormones)
good luck

I also am a fan of massage as it helps rid the body of toxins and helps relieve stress which in turn helps with pain
pain is the devil and it breaks my heart when folks can't find relief from it
