Damn, that's amazing. I'm jealous of your adventures but more than happy to experience them second hand via these entries.

Ooh! A city putting up a lights show? Wow. Now I must definitely go to HK at the end of the year.

Wow... some great views there. Asia's always been a place that's fascinated me, so it's interesting to hear you say it didn't feel like you were there. I'm afraid I can't help with the Food Vendor Mystery :) Have fun!

Sweet post!! Your photos are great communicators.

To add to your booyashee world reference notes:

Thailand- mai ow! (with a wry grin)
Cambodia- mun (j)yo! (with a soft smile)
India- naHEE! (with a look in your eye that says I want to stab you in the ear)

I wanted to edit my above comment to read, "I'd just as soon stab you in the ear" instead of the instigative intent implied in the original. Gotta play it cool...;) but I'm too lazy to go to your journal and do that.

I am excited to see your photos. There's really no justification for comparison- I am all day seeking, pursuing, and displaying intentionally commercial stuff so I can (forever) avoid the dread table-waiting. The shots that accompany the interesting stories are hardly ever so good on their own.

As for the monks- I think being a bald girl helps my rapport with them, and I usually ask in their language, or get a photo after we've had a good conversation in English, which most of them seem to be studying.

That said, I do enjoy a good compliment. Thank you:)
