It does! Our B&B (which did lovely veggie breakfasts!!) was located just along the road from it.

The church is very fine, too, but we didn't get a chance to explore inside it...

The vegetarian pub sounds fantastic. I need to start looking at good vegetarian options in London.

It's very true - and I've been equally guilty in my time. My first proper visit to Paisley Abbey took place when I was in my early thirties...

Wantage isn't that far from me and I only ever pass through. Now I'm definitely going to stop for lunch and check out the book shop!

I also happen to like Wantage.

To push you further to visit my lovely Rochester some time- it has the biggest second hand bookshop in England (and you have a ready made tour guide. :o)

In truth, it's not that much further than Wantage- it's just that the Great Wen gets in the way!

Ironically, we'll also have more time for Scotland generally now the family ties are broken. We're considering the East Neuk of Fife and his old stamping grounds in St Andrews for some time next year. I also want to explore the borders where part of my own family connections are from- the Scott and Cockburn ancestors.
