More Icons!

Uh, I've had some sort of fever dream or something, because I was suddenly seized with a compulsion to make icons. But not just any icons, oh no...I'm honestly not sure whether to blame or credit Cicely Mary Barker.

ETA: I need hardly add "help yourselves but I like a credit for my fragile self-esteem", do I?

These are beautiful, I used to love them when I was a little girl. I think I liked the Rosehip Fairy the best (2nd to bottom row, 3rd from the left? Is that her? She's the one I liked anyway) and somehow, as an adult, I've ended up with her hair!

That's her! How does she do up that headscarf?

When I was little I read the books for hours, I had a complicated mythology going on. Something about Rose being the queen of all the pretty flowers, and Thistle being the king of all the nasty pointy plants. Sometimes it looked like Rose might lose, but the Christmas Tree would tell everyone not to be so silly and they'd all be friends again.

I am sadly lacking that knowledge too. It looks very complicated!

That's so sweet :D. Bless you! I remember the book I had completely falling apart at the spine, it was in such a sorry state. Someone gave it to me, I think.

I'm so glad I remembered her! I was worried I would embarrass myself! I liked the Horse Chestnut Fairy too, I've always had a fascination with conkers, there were so many Horse Chestnut trees at the gates of my primary school, and even a few in the playground :)

I really must buy a new copy.

We used to play flower fairies at school, and via the undemocracy of small girls, the prettiest girl in the class (tm) always used to get to be the Rose fairy. I think I used to get Clover, despite a hankering for Poppy. Clearly the protogoth ;) ISTR a mild pash for the deadly nightshade fairy...

I'd forgotten how lovely the drawings were.
