Finally an area of subject I have a vague understanding of. Now running these fountains is going to require a power sauce yes, however if you run a lot of powered equipment (like I do cameras, lights etc.) you can often find that there are certain battery packs that can be worn (belt batteries for camera's etc.) and again if you have a knowledge of electrical wiring it would be possible to figure out a battery based alternative.

It was I who suggested car batteries and an inverter. The inverter you can buy from nearly anywhere (PC World, Maplins etc.) as they are popular to drive laptops off of 12 volt systems such as car cigarette lighter sockets.
