Okay, for the LT inclined among us, 3rd Ed rules have been released. Come read my thoughts as I read the PDF!

Disclamer: I may be misunderstanding, or things might become clearer as I go down the document. These are my very unformed first impressions.

actually its 28 cards for a fully powered card ripper.

Ref: Lore bunnies, they at least get a reduction in points allowing more things for them to do.

Nothing wrong with Locational hits. Someone hits my arm with a blunt lump of wood, my arm's gonna hurt, but I'm not likely to go unconcious, even with repeated battering to that same arm.

Lethal poisons always required a ref in the last edition, so no real change there. Most who use poisons go with the "Stealth Ref" approach.

Tanks get a serious points rebate, and extra options. Mind you the only 1st level spell they can cast in heavy armour (without an OS) is Retribution, which now goes through the ritual of peace. Why can I see a rise in Incantor tanks on the horizon?

You're quite right- I think we're going to have to coin the term Intankers, on the whole.

whoops, my bad, I slightly misread the rulebook, and thought that heavy armour restricted all but self spells, instead of just preventing ranged and mass effects.

So Retribution is not the only spell available, and I am a numpty

Other points of interest: "sharp" and "blunt" no longer exist and you don't have to call normal damage, you just have to hit them slowly and deliberately enough that they notice you have and can keep count.

You can also now subdue with a sword, as a result, which doesn't just knock you out for 10 mins and you walk away fine, because they've introduced a "debilitated" state. Good thing it's a lot more likely your passing healer or incantor will still have power left, coz you're going to need it.

No differentation between sharp and blunt means things can be immune to all normal damage.

Artefact (and bane, I think...) now goes through the ritual of peace.

There are spells which make you (and different spells for your stuff) immunne to the effects of Through and Crush.

But there's a spell to make weapons enchanted for so long, so not such a problem as it might otherwise be!

Lethal poisons now require a ref, and three out of the four poison types are generally lethal.

Technically speaking, lethal poisons always required a ref since you were potentially dealing death and death required a ref...
