Because I'm being a decent human being. The aforementioned cat friend (see previous post) and husband need a ride to the airport at the pre-asscrack of dawn (their flight leaves at 6-ish, so I'm picking them up at 3:30 AM), so I'm not going to sleep. If I crashed now, I wouldn't wake up and that would be terrible. Fortunately, I haven't got ( Read more... )

Okay this is the part where I admit that not only have I been a BSB fan since I was about 14, but I am still a BSB fan, and still buy all their music. The truth of the matter is that while I love their old stuff, their new stuff is awesome. The harmonies are fantastic, and I love it. I love it! I am not ashamed to admit this. I went to see them last summer when I was oh, ho, ho 24 years old, and uh. It was the greatest night of my life. Not lying. Better than sex. .... okay better than the sex I've had.

I found the thing about them with Arashi from last March on music station and just about died I ran around my apartment screaming and then capped BSB sitting behind Arashi because it was like my two favorite things just... collided. Into awesomeness.

YEAH YOU WANTED THIS ESSAY. DON'T LIE.

That actually makes me feel a little bit better. I mean, a decade ago, I never ever thought I'd be putting BSB and 'talented' together in a sentence without cussing or negators. And now, well, I seriously think JE has warped all sensibilities I have regarding music - I can look at the outfits American pop stars wear (like every single damn FandomSecret about Lady Gaga, for example) or "radical" high fashion and think Oh, totally normal.

The MS special from last month is especially epic during the Arashi talk - Nick? Is that the dude's name? - was sitting in the back making AWFUL faces every time he was on screen. It was laughter- and cringe-inducing.

Collision is a good word for this conflation. It's pretty stunning.

I LOVE YOUR ESSAYS.
