My parents were 33 and 54 when I was born and I can say it's not very easy, especially with my Dad. The age gap is HUGE and I have had to watched his mental and physical health decline dramatically as I changed from a child, to a tenn, to an adult. I don't think it's very fair to have a child when you may only be alive to see the first 20 years of their life. Plus it takes energy to care for kids, and I know that older people can be quite active but still!! So I am sure this woman has thought is through, I only hope for the child's sake, she's very healthy and has a supportive family who will be there whilst she is alive, and when she dies.

yes, I also hope for the best, I just feel strongly, that mother nature stops a woman from reproducing at a certain age, the age best for her. If this woman had never been able to have children previously and now was her only option, perhaps I could see it a little differently! Men can reproduce right up to death - I guess it is not their body that must carry the child and go through, so much physical drama.

My mother also had my little brother when she was 40 - not planned, it was 15 years after me, with no children in between and I can see the frustration in my little brother when, she is too tired to do something or doesn't want to play race cars.

Well all teh best to the child and to a happy life!
