Drat! I wanted to produce a complete track for this song, but I only finished about a minute's worth before the deadline. Hey, at least that's a complete verse/chorus! (UPDATE: The track is up to 3 minutes now! Only one more section to go, then polishing...) Please check out the track here. I plan to update this link as I continue to progress ( Read more... )

I just adore ukulele renditions of songs with poignant lyrics. It's such a happy sounding instrument, but it lends itself really well to all kinds of stories through song.

Thank you very much! I do love either contradicting that happy nature through lyrics or (in other songs) finding how to draw out a more melancholic sound from it. So it came across well!

There are some moments when your brilliance with rhythmic rhyming word association, simile and alliteration - at a level that would have shamed Byron - is nothing less than awe inspiring, but then when added on top of that the depth, gravity, and relatable of this message, it's absolutely breathtaking. Compound it all with a catchy tune, and a bit of more fleshed out background music then we've gotten from you before, and you're well on your way to an art form that is not just meaningful, but also a potentially marketable product. I do hope you will continue to work on the polishing the editing of this piece, and create a pro grade track for shopping around.

I'm just so bowled over by this comment. I feel so humbled and grateful to receive such high praise. Thank you for considering all of the elements that went into the song-all I could ask for as a writer and musician is for the audience to do that, and to resonate with what I'm putting out there. Thank you-thank you so much.

I've stalled a bit for the moment with the production of this one, but it does light a fire under me to hear you believe in me to this degree. I will keep pushing this! It feels like there is still such a long road ahead for my music production, but what a wind behind my sails!

Such an amazing and fantastically well-done dichotomy of a song. A war song. A peace song. A cry for rational emotion. I loved this line beyond reason because yes - we’ve been persisting in a peculiar tryst-
we bite the hand that feeds us,
then lick the boot that bleeds us.

Songs are vital, songs are important. This is one of those songs.

This was such a great song! I loved "minimum rage," and of course, there was the ukulele. Great tune, too.
