Harry's situation is a delicate one and to be fair would you want to be bombarded with one monumental thing after another just as you find out a) You're a Wizard and b) You're a National Hero?
Again some of your questions and concerns will be answered as the story progresses and this will be a long one as far as I can tell.

I'm enjoying this very much. Ginny taking charge of introducing Harry makes sense to me--for a lot of different reasons. I don't know if the reasons I came up with are the same as yours but am looking forward to finding out. Andrew arguing with Ginny about whether they were dating was great--it established his character and introduced some backstory for Ginny also.

Thank you. Just as a heads up. I am scratching chapter two completely and will be utilizing a new venue all together, because it has an affect in the next chapter, which will have a very serious 'talk' between Harry and Ginny.
All of your questions are excellent and will most definitely be answered as the story progresses, particularly the how Dumbles found out about Harry's disappearance from the wizarding world, his reactions and so on.
The only bond you will find in this story between Harry and Ginny will be the ones created by the normal relationships created by two very strong equals. I love bond stories, but this won't be one of those.
Boston? Hah, that was a pull a city in the Northeast out of a hat decision. I'm pleased you like it.
I'm also pleased that you are enjoying it so far. Sorry, but progress on this sucker will be slow. The good news is, if my muses are up for it, I'll be able to write quite a bit this holiday.
