diorbaby Summary: Harry and Draco's baby arrives early.
Harry had just looked at the mound of gifts that remained to be wrapped and heaved a huge sigh when Draco shuffled into the dining room.
"Harry, I think...I think we need to go to St Mungo's."
"Draco, why would...oh. Oh!" Harry exclaimed, his eyes going round as he beheld his husband rubbing his swollen stomach and rocking anxiously back and forth on his feet. "It's too soon!" blurted Harry, worried now.
"By about two weeks," Draco agreed with a frown.
Harry jumped up, toppling his chair in the process, and made a mad dash for the bedroom, yelling, "I'll get your bag! We packed it already, right?"
Draco paced restlessly until Harry came bounding back with his overnight bag in tow. Harry took his hand and led the way to the fireplace, grabbing a pinch of Floo powder and calling out, "St Mungo's Paternity Ward!"

Harry sat and gazed in wonder at his newborn daughter where she was nestled in Draco's arms. He had tried to subtly indicate that he wanted to hold her, but Draco hadn't gotten the hint yet. In fact, it appeared as though he wouldn't let go of her until she was at least fifteen years old.
"What shall we name her?" Draco asked.
"I thought we had agreed on Ashley," Harry remarked in surprise.
"Yes, but that's when we expected her in January," Draco replied. "I think she needs a name more suitable to a girl born at Christmastime."
"Like what?"
"How about Holly?" suggested Draco.
"Why not Mistletoe?" snapped Harry. When Draco brightened in interest, he said, "I wasn't serious, so don't even consider it. And stop being such a baby hog," he added, reaching for his daughter. "I want to hold her now."
"She's my baby!" protested Draco, cradling her closer.
"She's mine, too!" Harry fumed.
"Gentlemen!" came a new voice. Harry and Draco turned as one to see a stern looking woman glaring at them from the doorway. "I can hear you all the way down the hall," she scolded. "Keep it down in here."
"Yes, ma'am," they responded, thoroughly chastised.
The woman gave one last sniff and closed the door firmly behind her. Harry and Draco exchanged sheepish glances over their daughter. Finally, reluctantly, Draco held her out and said, "It's your turn to hold her now."
Harry gingerly took the sleeping baby and sat back, cuddling her close against his chest. "She's so tiny," he breathed in awe.
"We still need to name her," Draco reminded him.

Hermione hung up the telephone and turned to her husband. "That was Harry," she said. "He and Draco are at St Mungo's. Their baby was born last night!"
Ron paused in the act of eating a biscuit. "That's early, isn't it?"
"Yes, by a couple weeks," confirmed Hermione. "But Draco and the baby are doing fine, and they've named her Ashley Noelle."
