June has been horridly hot so far this year. Do Not Want. Blah.
This month's JMDC prompt is a short list of "P" words: parade, participant, party, plain, protest. Use one, some, or all in whatever tense appeals to you. Feel free to write/draw any fandom, pairing, threesome, gen fic, original fic, etc. Combine it with other prompts, if you're able.
Please post your entry in your own journal (unlocked!) or a community of your choice, and leave me a link in the comments below. You have until June 30 at 10:00pm CST to submit an entry. At that time, I'll post links to the entries and draw a name from among the participants to receive a drabble from me.
Below is my entry for this month:

dove_drabbles Prompt No. 116 - Be good to yourself today!
Summary: Dee and Ryo are tabbed to patrol the streets during NYC's Pride parade.
The Pride parade in New York wasn't merely an event; it was a spectacle There were thousands of participants in the parade, and spectators numbered in the hundreds of thousands. It was a New York party, and it was also a recipe for disaster.
In addition to the parade participants and the spectators and other celebrants, there were protestors, as well as criminals looking for an easy mark. Police presence was heavy by necessity, which is why Dee and Ryo were working instead of doing some celebrating of their own. Dee had been salty about the situation until Ryo reminded him that they'd had the day off the previous year.
As detectives, Dee and Ryo were dressed in plain clothes, but both wore their badges on lanyards around their necks.
"I should let my badge dangle down my back," Ryo said, voice grumpy as he suffered yet another pinch to the ass.
"You're so gorgeous that none o' these guys can keep their hands offa ya," Dee said with a snicker.
His laughter ceased when a drag queen slapped his ass and hooted, "Be good to yourself today, sugar!"
"I don't remember people getting this handsy with us last year, when we weren't on duty," Ryo remarked.
"That's cuz we made it obvious we were together," said Dee. "We haveta focus on the job today."
By the time they made it home from parade duty, both Ryo and Dee had several rainbow stickers plastered to their shirts and faint bruises on their asses.
Ryo sighed and slumped onto the couch. "At least no one got too rowdy."
"There was that scuffle on the corner between protestors and the Rainbow Cowboys."
"Yeah, but a couple beat cops broke that up," said Ryo. "I wonder how JJ fared in the actual parade."
"He was probly havin' a ball, tossin' candy off the float he was ridin' on," Dee mused.
"I'm just glad the day is over." Ryo yawned after speaking, leaned his head back, and closed his eyes.
"Me too, babe," said Dee. "From now on, the only guy who gets to pinch and slap your ass is me."
Ryo cracked one eye open. "Don't even think about it. My ass is sore enough."
