I dipped my shoulder forward and Spartacus hopped onto the breakfast bar. "Take a look around," I told him. "Feel free to explore."
He jumped to the floor and slunk into the living area. His wrinkled tail was at half mast. Cautious, I thought. Cats liked me, so I liked them. Well enough to read their tails. Spartacus wasn't happy, scared, or angry. That's how I decided on cautious. This was a new environment for him.
"Don't claw the furniture," I said. With those claws, he'd destroy anything in minutes. Same with his T-Rex teeth. "Don't gnaw the furniture either."
