After returning from the Notts' party, charging upstairs, and having half-clothed, frantic sex atop their bed, Harry and Draco had finished undressing and were now laying in drowsy repose beneath the heavy duvet.
Harry burrowed closer and slung his leg across Draco's thighs. "We seldom have time to just laze in bed and snuggle."
"We're fathers now. We'll have to wait until we send Jasmin off to Hogwarts."
Harry groaned. "By then, Carolyn will be back home full time, lazing about and burning through our vaults."
Draco laughed and ruffled Harry's hair. "I cannot picture Carolyn simply lazing about."
Harry snickered, trying to imagine his vivacious daughter as a sullen teen. "Let's hope it doesn't come to pass," he said. Harry rolled over and snagged his wand from the side table.
"I bought you a special gift."
It was Draco who groaned this time. "Not another horrid pair of pants. Harry, I will go mad if you keep buying me such ridiculous items."
"It's tradition," Harry insisted. He flicked his wand and summoned a small, wrapped box. "I promise it's not a G-string."
"That's a relief. Truly."
"It's a pair of red lace knickers."
"Lace...red...wha?"
"Just open it," said Harry, a wide grin on his face.
Draco sat up and gingerly took the box. He opened the wrapping paper and lifted the lid. Draco closed his eyes, as if praying for strength, and removed his gift. He gave the pants a shake. They were a pair of black silk boxers with a shiny gold nutcracker on the front.
"See? They're not so bad."
Draco grimaced. "The nutcracker looks deranged. And really? A nutcracker, Harry? On a pair of pants? It makes me fear for the family jewels."
Harry reached beneath the covers and groped the jewels in question, startling a squeak out of Draco. "They feel fine to me," he murmured, rolling his husband's balls in his hand. "More than fine, in fact. Roll over and get that arse in the air. It's my turn to top."
Draco tossed his new pants aside and heaved a sigh. "Let's get it over with then."

Harry carded his fingers through Draco's disheveled hair. "It got myself a pair, too."
"Hm?"
"A pair of pants," Harry clarified. He flicked his wand and summoned his new pants. "What do you think?" he asked, holding them up for Draco to see.
Draco opened his eyes, blinking in the low lamplight. He frowned. "Why do you get the tasteful pair of black silk boxers with shiny gold Snitches?"
"Why? Do you want to trade?"
"Yes."
"Too bad," said Harry. "You must learn to graciously accept gifts, no matter how tasteless or tacky they are."
"I accepted Carolyn's rainbow Christmas tree and your ruddy llama, didn't I?"
"You threatened to shank the llama with your paring knife and deflate it."
"It's hideous."
"Sorry?"
"I said, I wasn't serious," Draco muttered. He yawned and dowsed the light.
Harry sat up and peered out the window. "Look, Draco, it's snowing." There was enough ambient light outside to reveal bare tree branches frosted in white, while fat flakes drifted downward.
"It's beautiful," said Draco. He yawned again and tugged at Harry. "Get under the covers and keep me warm."
Harry was happy to comply. Having a night to themselves was just the dash of romance they'd needed in this hectic holiday season.
