slythindor100 25 Days of Draco and Harry Early Bird 15:

Summary: Harry secures promises, buys gifts, delivers inflatables, and loses a wager.

After getting more assurances from Luna and Neville that the secret wedding would remain a secret with them, Harry ducked out of Diagon Alley and into Muggle London. He girded his loins and joined the parade of frantic holiday shoppers. Harry went to the store where he'd bought Draco's inflatable Santa, and he bought a pink, inflatable snow globe for Madam Puddifoot to place outside of her tea room. He also got an inflatable snowman for the Hog's Head.

That task accomplished, Harry meandered through a Christmas market. He stopped at a cart where the proprietor was making cocoa. Harry bought a cup of the hot, sweet liquid, enjoying how it warmed his cold hands as he strolled through the rest of the market. He bought a few more gifts, including a pair of ridiculous holiday pants for Draco.

Harry then went to that bastion of childhood known as Hamleys. He was looking for gifts for Rose and Hugo, and he was drawn to the plush toys. Harry meandered along, admiring how detailed they were. He found a cat that looked remarkably like Cassi, and Harry chose that for his irascible fiance. He was really pleased to find a plush Artem the Arctic fox. Harry immediately grabbed that toy to give to Rosie. He knew Hugo would want something similar, so Harry found a fluffy black fox for him.

Once his shopping was complete, Harry returned home. He checked on the Christmas trees, finding the main one listing a bit to the side. Harry righted it with a flick of his wand. The Pink Tree remained unscathed by the dog and cat, perhaps because it was guarded so diligently by the tiny faeries that lit each branch.

Harry wasn't home long before he Apparated to Hogsmeade. There, he delivered the inflatable snowman to Aberforth, then took the pink snow globe to Madam Puddifoot. She nearly swooned with delight when Harry set it up in front of her shop and showed her how to operate it. She insisted on sending Harry off with a box full of fairy cakes and two cups of steaming cider.

Harry strolled towards Draco's shop, pausing to admire the Santa inflatable that dominated the roof of the small building. Harry was still grinning when he stepped inside.

Draco took one look at him and sighed. "Dare I even ask why you're smiling like a nutter?"

"I was just reveling in the beauty of your holiday decor," Harry replied, extending a cup of cider.

Draco accepted it with a snort of disgust. "It's hideous."

"But, has it brought more shoppers to your door?"

Draco responded with a question of his own. "Did you accomplish your tasks today?"

"Yes, mum," snarked Harry. "The flowers are ordered, I got the inflatables I promised for Madam Puddifoot and Aberforth, I bought some toys for Rose and Hugo, Neville and Luna guessed that we're getting married, and I got you a gift or two."

"Sorry?"

"I said, I bought you a couple of things."

"No, before that," Draco insisted.

"I bought toys for the kids?"

"Har-ree."

"It wasn't my fault!" cried Harry. "As soon as I told Neville what we wanted for flowers, he guessed why we were ordering those particular ones. I made him and Luna swear they wouldn't tell a soul."

Rather than being angry, Draco smirked at him. "You know what this means, don't you?"

Harry and Draco had made a wager on the day they'd sent out their party invitations: whichever of them let the kneazle out of the bag first had a major concession to make.

Harry's shoulders drooped, and he sighed in defeat. "Yes, Draco. It means our new, married name will be Potter-Malfoy."
