Summary: Malfoy spells it out for Harry. Follows
Weighing Out Party.
Malfoy laughed. "Can I help it if you have a tendency to say things that are rife with entendre?"
"Why must you always be such a prat?" snapped Harry. "If you don't want to help me find our friends, then I'll do it on my own."
"I'm telling you, they don't wish to be found," said Malfoy. "Would you have wanted one of your friends to come bursting in on us when we were dueling in the Room of Requirement?"
The very thought horrified Harry, and he gulped. "That...that was different," he tried.
"Why?" challenged Malfoy. "Because it was you, and you knew exactly what you were doing? Do you honestly believe your friends don't know exactly what they're doing, and are in need of being rescued?"
Harry's mouth fell open, but no sound emerged.
Malfoy wasn't done yet. "Unless one of your precious Gryffindor friends was dragged out of the Great Hall, screaming like Moaning Myrtle, I think it's safe to assume each of them has made his or her own mind up on the matter and isn't going to appreciate any interference from you or anyone else."
Harry swallowed and gave a reluctant nod.
Malfoy rewarded him with a smile. "If you no longer have the urge to save the day, I say there are better ways we can spend what's left of the night."
What Malfoy was suggesting sounded far more exciting than tracking down wayward friends. Besides, why should Harry's friends have all of the fun? Well, except for Ron, that was. Harry directed a guilty glance across the Great Hall, but Ron seemed to be in conversation with Luna.
"I don't know if I want to go all the way back to the Room of Requirement," said Harry. He was anxious to begin having fun again. "Isn't there somewhere closer where we can have some privacy?"
"I know just the place," Malfoy replied. He took Harry's hand and led him from the Great Hall. They turned the corner and hastened down a corridor before stopping in front of a narrow door.
Harry frowned at Malfoy. "The broom cupboard where we spent the first hour of the party?"
