Summary: Dumbles and Hagrid dance. Follows Pounding Out Party.

"Rubeus Hagrid, I do hope you have saved me a dance."

Hagrid turned and came face to face with none other than Albus Dumbledore. Or rather, the ghost of Albus Dumbledore. "Professor Dumbledore!" he exclaimed. "I'd be honored to dance with ye, providing Filius here don't mind." He indicated his partner with a wave of his meaty hand.

Professor Flitwick sketched a small bow to the translucent Dumbledore. "Be my guest, Headmaster," he said. "Just let me get out of the way first."

Dumbledore hovered at the proper height and took Hagrid's hand in his own. As they began to dance, the students cheered and stood back, giving them room. Hagrid shuffled his big feet and turned in a slow circle, while Dumbledore spun in the air around him. Their audience clapped and called out encouragement.

From her position at the edge of the dance floor, McGonagall leaned close to Madam Hooch. "Isn't this fun?" she asked. "I only wish Severus had stayed, but he would only glower and flounce and castigate everyone for having a good time. I imagine."

"Aw, Professor Snape needs to lighten up," scoffed Madam Hooch. "I think the poor dear just needs an exhilarating broom ride, if you know what I mean," she added, giving McGonagall a poke to the ribs with her elbow.

"Rolanda!" scolded the Headmistress, clucking her tongue in disapproval.

"I wasn't referring to my broom," said Hooch. "Why, Sybil would have my head if I shared it with anyone else."

McGonagall fussed with her hat to cover her embarrassment. "Yes, well, please continue to use discretion when carrying on with Professor Trelawney, dear."

"We always do, Headmistress. We always do."

On the dance floor, Hagrid was making use of the extra room that the students had afforded him. He was dancing a stomping sort of jig, and the onlookers clapped in rhythm. Dumbledore continued to strut his stuff, even if he was floating above the floor, well out of the way of Hagrid's large feet.

"Are you enjoying yourself, Hagrid?" Dumbledore asked.

"Aye, Professor," Hagrid replied, sounding slightly out of breath. "It's good to see ye gracing the castle again."

"I'm glad you think so," said Dumbledore, "because I've no intention of leaving any time soon."
