"Mum!" Draco called out. "We're home! Mum?"

"Melvin?"

"Shush, Harry," Draco chastised, elbowing Harry in the ribs.

Harry feigned a cough to cover his snicker. He knew very well that Lucius Melvin Malfoy hated his middle name. It was the reason Harry used it so often.

There followed the sound of heels clicking down the marble staircase an instant before Narcissa swept into the parlor. "Draco," she smiled in delight, stepping forward to greet her son. "Harry," she added, including Draco's mate in her welcome. "What brings you two to the Manor?"

"We wish to discuss plans for a bonding ceremony," Draco announced.

Narcissa gasped, and her hand fluttered to her throat. "You're getting married?!" she exclaimed.

Harry nodded. "We wanted you to be the first to know," he said.

"I'm so happy for you!" said Narcissa.

Lucius strode into the parlor in time to hear his wife's pronouncement. "Please tell me you're not spawning," he sniffed.

"We plan to have a formal bonding ceremony first, father," said Draco.

"We wouldn't want to embarrass the family, Melvin," Harry added with a smirk.

Lucius glared at Harry, and his left eye began to twitch. "Yes, we wouldn't want to bear the stigma of an illegitimate child," he said. "The last thing this family needs is a bastard." Lucius stared Harry down as he spoke.

Harry's jaw tightened as the barb struck home. He opened his mouth to deliver a scathing retort.

"Come," said Narcissa, taking Draco's arm and leading him from the parlor. "We'll ring for tea and discuss plans over nibbles."

Harry and Lucius dutifully followed their mates, exchanging dark looks as they did so.

"Harry, dear, are you listening?"

Harry blinked, bringing Narcissa into focus. "My apologies," he said. "I confess this is a tad overwhelming."

Narcissa reached across the table and patted his hand. "Don't worry," she said. "You just leave the planning to me. Why, I've been planning Draco's wedding since he was in nappies!"

"She means it," Lucius muttered under his breath.

Harry looked at him and winced, and the two of them almost smiled at one another before they both grimaced.

"Naturally, we assumed Draco would be marrying a woman," Lucius sneered to steer the visit back to familiar territory.

Relieved, Harry allowed his shoulders to relax, and he cheerfully took up the gauntlet. "I'm sure Narcissa thought she'd be marrying a man," he jeered.

Lucius straightened in his chair. "What do you mean by that, Potter?"

"He means mother didn't realize you had veela blood, father," Draco interjected smoothly. "Isn't that right, Harry?" he asked. Draco's expression dared Harry to contradict him.

Harry wasn't stupid. "Yes, of course," he agreed. "Draco, love, perhaps we can continue with the wedding plans at a later date. I'm feeling knackered."

Lucius pounced on that revelation. "Is there something you'd like to tell us, Potter?" he drawled. Clearly, the thought of Harry being up the duff delighted him far more than the prospect of his own son being impregnated.

"As a matter of fact, Melvin, there is something we'd like to tell you," said Harry. "We plan to spend our honeymoon here at Malfoy Manor."
