Summary: Draco wants to get a puppy to keep him company during the day.
Draco lay in sated repose, safe and warm in Harry's arms.
"Harry, let's get a puppy."
Harry's eyes snapped open. "A puppy?" he asked. "Why?"
"I get bored and lonely some days when you're not around," said Draco. "A puppy would keep me company."
"What if dogs don't like me?" Harry fussed.
"Dogs don't like werewolves," Draco told him. "They don't seem to mind vampires."
Harry frowned. "What if you love the puppy more than you love me?"
"That's a chance I'll just have to take," Draco sighed dramatically. He laughed when Harry growled and rolled him to his back. "I'm not going to love a puppy more," Draco said, grinning up at his lover.
"Do you really want a dog?" asked Harry. At Draco's nod, Harry said, "Alright, but only if you adopt one from a shelter."

Harry awoke the next evening as per usual--hungry and horny. He couldn't wait to get his hands on Draco, not to mention his fangs and cock into his boyfriend. Instead, Harry was gobsmacked to find Draco sitting on the living room floor, playing with a brown and white puppy.
Draco looked up and smiled. "Harry!" he greeted. "I wasn't aware that it had gotten so late. Come meet our new dog Lucy."
"Lucy?" Harry asked, taking a hesitant step forward.
Lucy turned at his voice and barked at Harry.
"Sit down, Harry," scolded Draco. "You're frightening her."
Harry frowned, but he sat on the floor and patted one hand on the carpeting. Lucy approached him cautiously and sniffed his hand. Her stumpy tail gave a slow wag. Harry reached to pet her, but Lucy tucked her arse and scrambled back to Draco.
"She doesn't like me," whined Harry.
Draco had the nerve to laugh at him. "She's simply not used to you, is all," he said. "She was nervous around me at first, too." He tossed Harry one of the old rubber chew toys that Harry had used when he had been teething as a fledgling vampire. "Wiggle that for her," Draco instructed.
Harry moved the toy on the floor, and Lucy pounced upon it and engaged him in a game of tug-o-war. Harry laughed in delight. Maybe having a puppy would be fun. "What kind of dog is she?" he asked.
"She's a spaniel mix," said Draco. "She's not a purebred, but the bloke at the shelter said she was mostly spaniel and that she'll be an active and friendly dog. Do you like her?"
"She seems nice enough," said Harry. "However, I didn't realize you would run out and get a dog so soon."
"We discussed it last night."
"Yes, I know," sighed Harry. "I just thought I'd have more time to get used to the idea."
"You don't want me to take her back, do you?" Draco asked, looking stricken.
"No, of course not," said Harry. "If she makes you happy, then I'm happy, too."
"Thank you, Harry," Draco beamed. He scooted up to to his boyfriend and leaned close. "I reckon you're hungry, yeah?"
"Mm, yeah," murmured Harry, angling his head to lick Draco's neck. His fangs ached to pierce that soft skin, and he couldn't wait to shag his boyfriend. Harry's plans were foiled when Lucy budged between them and began licking his face.
