I don't know if this is the Tree of Life, or the Tree of Knowledge.

Do you require assistance?

The argument becomes that it can't be knowledge because we don't remember and we're born from the sap. It's frozen in her hair.

I don't know.

Double-aught or double-oh?

Maybe it means new knowledge. But it is more likely to be life.

If you require blankets, I can deliver them to your location.

The number zero.

Someone should ask it directly.

There's blankets she just thinks there's a lot of people all asking for the same thing.

So you say Double Zero?

[BLOT, then nothing more for several minutes. Simon is torn between ecstasy and FML.]

Hello, Qǐ. My name is Simon.

[Have some flowers drawn out of that blot.]

Simon. Simon. Simon.

It's like a small bell.

The ink leaves it unfinished she can't find the thread to the bell on paper alone.

Does the girl always talk in the third person or is this just a creepy way of saying hello?

If you could follow it, she wonders what makes it creepy.

Hello.

I dunno speaking in the third person is always creepy. It's done by toddlers and serial killers, both of which are equally terrifying.

Ah yeah. Hi.

Perception. It's a sign of confusion and distance.

Do you have a name that rings or is mathematically sound?

The stars are difficult to see here. I would that they were closer, myself.

You are new to Edensphere? My name is Fred.

She wonders if we could get a very tall ladder are people born in stars too?

Newborn at the age of unknown.

Hello, Fred.

In stars? Doubtful. Among them, though? [Pen taps] I don't see why they wouldn't be.

No one knows their true age here-- unless they manage to recover a memory of it, I suppose.

And your name is Qǐ? [A few pen taps as she wonders how to pronounce that]

People aren't supposed to be born in trees either there's a woman with much breathing involved.

Not important.

Argh, forget journal-is-lost-in-the-ice reasoning for slowaitus, this is interesting. desig_survivor March 9 2010, 03:27:05 UTC
[Ping! Unless and until she corrects him, he's going to pronounce it Qwi.]

Qǐ. That's a nice name.

The stars seem a little less distant from the air. Not a whole lot, no, but it's better than being grounded.

I'm Rogue.

[ Based on the Mandarin pronunciation I heard, that's about it. Though Qwi and Key are pronounced the same way, to me. ]

She thanks you she choose it herself.

The air? Is there flight rockets? wings?

Rogue. Hopefully not a villain.

[I have no idea how Qwi's pronounced, though given that her name was a pun on "quixotic" I'm assuming it's Kwih.]

Wings. There are griffins - if you want to see, they're at the stables on Melee Island. Takes some training before you can take one up, though.

[He's taken aback.] Ah. Well, I don't think of myself as one, but I suppose not a lot of people do.

[ Ah, that'd be different then. ]

Griffins...[ pentaps ] Can someone else take her?

Some have a clearer self-image than others.
