A lovely slice of life, dude. I liked the Nigerian endearments (sorry, don't recognise the language but then you have so damn many in Nigeria, and I know it's not Hausa) sprinkled through the husband/wife conversation - they gave it a nice, tender, intimate feel. And the MLK thing, and the split perceptions, and the routine humiliations of the expat Nigerian coming to the US. Cool stuff girl.

you might want ot use < lj-cut> next time to keep the story from taking over the whole page. Not that I minded, having said that.

Oops... about the lj-cut. I sometimes forget these things - I blame it on old age.

Yeah, Nigeria has like 250 languages but I'll say this had some Yoruba-influenced Pidgin.

Thanks for reading and I'm glad you liked it. I wasn't quite sure about it when I first wrote it so it's great to get some feedback like this.
