I slept badly--dreamed things connected to that awful nurse. I woke up at 9, (which is early for me) and called the agency. I talked to the supervisor. I said that because of all that I was worried about my foot after overnight. I didn't know if my heel was supposed to be bare ( Read more... )

Yesterday the Home Care Nurse came and took care of my foot. Went well at first. Then she said she was going to discharge me, and that I could wrap it myself. Melissa had come downstairs to see if she needed to be there to see things. That 's when things fell apart ( Read more... )

The "two or three" weeks the doctor suggested for recovery turned out to be much more. That's ok--I was well taken care of. After surgery on 12/21 I was released from the hospital on 12/23. The Rehab Center (Franciscan Woods) was basically next door and an ambulance delivered me to Rm 301. That became my 'home' for more than 9 weeks. I thought ( Read more... )

This afternoon Cyn and Kevin arrived at Franciscan Woods, packed up all my "stuff" and brought me home. I've been there since Dec. 21! My foot is healing remarkably well, and the "home nursing service" will come tomorrow to see me, and to plan for any further help ( Read more... )
