He had been sitting in their living room - and there was always a burst of warmth at their, to share his life with someone this much. He wasn't sure he believed in The One, that there was only one person he could spend his life with - but regardless, he felt like Zeetha was someone he could stay with forever. They... fit each other well.

He glanced up from the book he'd been reading when she called his name. "Hmm?" There was a vague look of concern on his face - she sounded a little worried about something.

Zeetha crossed the space between them and sat down next to him, trying to feel confident. She smiled at him, catching his look, she didn't want him to think there was anything wrong with her exactly, and she hated for this to be a tense moment. But still, she had no idea where to start or begin. She couldn't just blurt it out. Imagining the look on his face if she did that made her smile a bit more genuine. Really, he did have such a wonderful expression when he was truly caught off guard by his pupil's antics.

She supposed that was as good a place to start as any.

"Jyuushirou," she said. "It's always seemed to me that you liked children." She phrased it as a statement, but one she left open for him to confirm or deny.

When she sat down, he threaded one of his hands through her's. It was almost an automatic gesture at this point, but... he liked the way they fit together.

The concerned expression didn't quite fade, though the smile was reassuring. Still, that question had been a bit... leading. Not in a bad way, but he was a little puzzled nonetheless.

"I do - I suppose it's hard not to, in my family." Seven siblings - and many of them were married and raising families of their own by now. He was a little late to that game, comparatively.

The touch of his hand made her feel better, and she tightened her fingers around his.

"That's good," she said, determined not to sound like she was babbling, because babbling was undignified. She tried to think of how to move into her topic smoothly, but her mind kept drawing a blank. Instead she kept thinking about her tactics lessons, the books and the lectures. If only she could have learned proper tactics for this situation, she was sure things would be going a lot better. There had to be, as there was for every situation, right and wrong ways of doing things. But what were they now?

"In my culture we like children a lot, too. Children are a blessing for us, whether a woman has a husband or not."
