I wish that I could properly describe how your depictions of Andrew and Eddie make me feel. There aren't words. It's just a feeling of how intimate they are with each other, how comfortable they are in each others' presence, and I find it in every single one of your fics. Jen, this fic is beautiful. The 'verse just feels so full, and I just adore what you've done with all the characters, the mixed media, the narrative style. I am love with the whole family and want to know more about Liz, Addy, Virginia and Derrick. The cameos by Runner and Basilone cracked me up.

I do hope we eventually see tons more from this 'verse b/c, damn you, I'm hooked.

aaaaaaa shannon this comment means so much to be because you're like, the au queen. for real! i'm ridiculously pleased that you liked it and that all of the oc's worked for you! at one point i was worried that i was just overloading the story with original characters but didn't know how to scale back haha. but i'm really glad that it all turned out okay and yesss i'd love to write more if my schedule will allow me! :D

despite all the chaos of the press/their prying and the ridiculously stressful job of politics, there's something peaceful about this whole fic - because of the relationship andrew and eddie have with each other. and because of this, i feel like. COMPLETELY REASSURED THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY. BECAUSE THEY ARE STRONG. AND THEY LOVE EACH OTHER. AND THEIR FAMILY SUPPORT IS BEAUTIFUL. and i just want to coo at all of it.

i totally agree with shannon on the fact that this verse is so very full, and you feel like there's SO MANY places you can go/expand on with it (which is obviously your intention =D) and yes, you really did so well with their families. (DERRICK, IN PARTICULAR, REALLY MAKES ME LOL. also - with addy - at first i was like 'hmm, is she going to go the typical bratty/uninvolved kid troupe route?' but then you fleshed out the backstory with her mother, her interaction with eddie, her fear and the fact that she has to keep this secret, and everything about the way she acts really made sense. yesss you know all about my plans to expand on this verse! don't have discrete plans for these boys yet but there's sooooo much that i haven't convered. i want to write a backstory when andy was studying at harvard and i want to write the fast forward when they actually come out to the public after andy serves a last term as senator after winning reelection and addy's away at college and gets a better perspective on everything.

OH SWEET JESUS HERE IT IS. I'M GOING TO READ TONIGHT (BY TONIGHT I MEAN BY BEDTIME AROUND 6) AND REVIEW TOMORROW WHEN I READ IT AGAIN AND HAVE MORE COHERENT THOUGHTS. (i seriously need to find a tracker for the stuff you post because the minute you said you were finishing this i was ALL over it and then i didn't get the chance to check for it til today. one day i will be the first/second/third reviewr!) ;) AND MEDIA FILES I SEE?! Okay, finally read and re-read and I loved it. Oh my gosh.

Okay so: THE CHARACTERIZATION WAS A SPOT ON AS ALWAYS. <33 It was just <33. I could see the characters doing everything you said (and it was very easy to do). :)

The relationship(s). omg that relationship!!!! Just the feeling it gives. the amount of spoken and unspoken things along with the gestures/ touches (or lack there of) made a beautiful relationship. And they way I imagined them interacting in their everyday lives (moving along the halls, sitting in the plane and cars, in meetings, going for a jog [which Eddie might sometimes join in on]). And that was just the feeling of Eddie/Andy's relationship! Eddie's relationship with ADDY was :DDD I just wanted to hug them! And now thinking of it I just got a really weird image of Eddie reading Addy a bed story when she was littler and IT IS ADORABLE. The whole family relationship was brilliant too ( ... )

haha yeah addy's a lot more complicated than i initially thought she would be--but considering she's lost a mom and her dad was barely around and eddie hung out with her more during her childhood than anyone else, i think it'd make sense that she'd latch on to him and that he'd be the only one to really understand how to talk to her. so hell yeah eddie would be the one reading her bedtime stories and she'd just sit there and clutch her stuffed rabbit and at the end she'll say good night and ask if her daddy's going to be home soon and eddie will just sadface at her and yell at andy the next time he sees him and andy will try to make more of an effort but he's always so tired from all of his meetings and he tries to get away with reading lobby statistics to addy who just fidgets and gets bored and eddie's like "wow that is not at all even a children's book are you kidding me? if we're going to read her statistics at least we could read her quarterly ( ... )
