[ That's another discussion entirely. The "end" of someone's life is unpredictable, there's no set expiration date. She can tell that Jules doesn't really want to continue this conversation - so the puppy is a welcome distraction.
Mind you, she does start a little, staring blankly down at the puppy, unsure of what to do about the fact that there are little teeth nibbling on her shoes. She's not very used to animals - the few that she's met haven't been particularly friendly. ]
