Home is where the heart is. There's no place like home. You can never go home again.
There are more trite cliches about the idea of home than anyone could ever count. None of them apply to Amanda.
Amanda doesn't have a heart and she doesn't have a home and no force on earth could stop her from going back. Back to the last place she had a heart. Back to the last place she had a home. Back to the place when both those things were stolen from her.
When she goes back, Amanda will be the thief

From the moment Nolan sets the box in her hands and she reads her father's letter, Amanda's course is set. It takes time to plan, to set things in motion, to become someone that she might have been if her life hadn't been ripped away from her by the people that her father trusted the most. Time does not concern her. Whether it takes five years or fifty, Amanda will have her vengeance.
Besides, there's a trite saying that goes along with that, too. Maybe revenge really is a dish best served cold.

Amanda's not prepared for what she feels when she sees the house again. Maybe she couldn't have been, maybe it wasn't possible. But when she walks the rooms that she once played in and traces her fingers over the carved message on the porch that still remains after all this time, something stirs deep inside her. It's not the cold burn of anger that's been her constant companion. It's something warmer, softer, something that she knows she once felt as easily as she took breath.
She thinks that feeling was called love.

Alone, she toasts to her father's memory.
"Daddy," she says, the light from the fire reflecting through the red wine in her glass. "I came home."
