Does the use of outside chemicals (alcohol, pot, pills) do reduce stress in one's life result in an inability to internally deal with stresses? Too many antibiotics reduce the ability of the body's own immune system to fight infection; does the same hold true for the ability to deal with stress?

ok, you scared me for a second
He has real trouble dealing with increased stress levels, I wonder if his use of outside chemicals makes dealing harder for him.
His father cannot handle anything if he isn't high...or trying to impress someone. He is really good if the nephews or little ones are around....but if it is adults, he flips out
