This was when MTV played music videos! In fact, MTV wasn't even a year old when this vid came out. Many artists weren't yet convinced they should bother with making a video; new bands trying to stand out, like Scandal, made MTV. Having said that, music videos were a new 'invention'. Nobody really knew what they should do in a video. Concert-like footage wasn't enough, thus, cheesy. :P
I seem to remember the set being more red than pink, but it may have been pinkish. I'm tempted to say it's pink from age, but I was focused on other things when it originally aired. Then again, I didn't notice this copy is pink until you pointed it out. ;)

Ok, so maybe it's really more cheesy than feminine. But come on-the stage/set in that video is all pink!
