I just set my studying schedule for Finals and I can theoretically do it. Couple of problems, though; 1) Are there any quick mass-transit ways to get to Brandeis from Cambridge? 2) As someone who has never LARPed at all, I'm having a hell of a time with the questionnaire, as there's no good way to know what elements of the exercise I do or do not like without already having experienced them to some meaningful extent.
There is commuter rail from Porter that goes directly to Brandeis (Fitchburg line). It's not bad, I've taken it often, and might be taking it this time, since I have to get there before other players. There's also a reasonable chance that you could get a ride back. The second part is harder for me to answer. What sort of characters do you enjoy in acting?
As for transit, I checked the commuter rail timetable and I just hope the LARP doesn't run long at all. One train leaves Brandeis at 6:30, then the next one doesn't leave until close to 11.
As for characters, tough to say; generally, I found the most psychotic/unstable/eccentric ones were the ones I had the easiest time relating to, that generally if the author wants the audience to be able to relate to a character, I'll have no hope of understanding it well enough to play it and, if the author wants the audience to be confused by or to hate the character, I'll have no trouble. I hope that makes some degree of sense. Then again, I have no experience at all in playing characters without a script so I'm not sure the analogy is applicable; I did quite a bit of improv, but I always prized plot and ignored character in those, because in general I find plot far more interesting.
I am willing to make sure you have some way of getting back: there is also a bus going to Central square from central waltham, it is quite walkable, and I'm sure that I could get a ride for you at least to the bus.
If you want to play, you should fill out the app as soon as possible: we only have two more slots. Do your best with the app, and I will take your comments into consideration when casting you.
