   This past weekend (Saturday to Tuesday morning) was the Amwest Model UN conference in Las Vegas. This year I went as a delegate .. with the Northern Arizona University (NAU) delegation

I seriously object to Chico's actions. Especially as I am certain that those awards were taken away from NAUMUN delegates.

So they won 70% of the research awards and 100% of the team awards in a conference staffed predominantly by ... themselves. Thats a shocking amount of shadesauce. I also suspect thats part of the reason that individual schools host conferences over here (and dont partake as delegates).

Yeah it was super shady. Paxmun policies NORMALLY would guard against this -- (1) the Board usually becomes irate if a Governor-General puts too many staff from any school on, and (2) NORMALLY the secretariat takes into consideration how many other awards a school has gotten and even if it means not giving an award to a deserving delegate will make an effort to distribute awards more evenly. Something very strange was going on in the Amwest secretariat. I certainly don't have enough school pride that I'd risk putting myself in the hated position they are now by shoveling all the awards on my own school. I don't know what they were thinking.

Happy god damn the persistence of this stupid myth there is less tryptophan in turkey than in most meats and really tryptophan day should be the 4th of july what with all the burgers and all Day!
