At the time, running on promises to end ASUCD corruption and shadiness, the Friends Urging Campus Kindness facebook group accrued an unprecedented 2,000+ subscribers. Since then, official leaders of the group have one by one been guillotined until only three of the original seven remained: Pete Hernandez, Kristen Birdsall, and Rob "Robespierre" ( Read more... )

the minute that a person joins the ranks of the elections committee or the ASUCD Court, both supposed impartial institutions, they should no longer be part of an ASUCD slate.

Also, F.U.C.K. being an anti-slate slate it makes sense for the people that were elected with the name defect from it. Sounds like natural evolution to be. Also, to merely stand by a F.U.C.K. supporter simply for that reason would be lowering myself to a partisan-hack, which is something i ran against.

I didn't know that standing by your friends, just for the sake of standing by your friends, made you guilty of partisan-hackery or cronyism. That's what people expect in a leader -- someone who can stand by their people, even when it is difficult to do so. That's not cronyism or partisanship, that's keeping your integrity and your word. If you feel you shouldn't support people when they're wrong, you are wrong. You should try to convince them otherwise, but you should be open to being convinced too.

In short, you need to believe in someone other than yourself to be a true leader. I don't know if you are actually capable of that.

I just try to do my job. If that upsets you Brent, then how about you run for senate and try to do it better.

Well then, suspend the bylaws to place a constitutional amendment on this ballot, so I can run in Fall 2006.

Thanks for all of the insight you have provided throughout this struggle. After all student government is stupid, and everything they do is stupid, and everyone involved is stupid. Yep, it's all stupid. And by your comments, you convinced everyone on the Senate that the ASUCD is stupid, and they're going to disband it tomorrow. Because we should really all just shut the fuck up, because we're just not interesting.

Oh wait, maybe that's you.

You don't get notified when you lose your moderator status. You were definitely no longer listed there when I first recently looked.
