Oh, my God. I started crying when Kurt said 'mom', and by the time Finn asked if he could start calling Burt 'dad' I was (still am) completely sobbing. I probably should have waited a few days before reading this, but I'm a little glad I didn't. I think I needed a good cry.

This was lovely. Thank you so, so much.

I love reading these four interacting, I can't get enough. And as someone with a step-parent I know how awkward it can be at first, and then something happens and it's like you can't imagine your family without them anymore. I'm so glad you filled that prompt.

Thank you :) I had a similar experience with my host-mum when I lived in NZ for a year. I could kind of (I'll stress that, because it really is a different circumstance) relate.

This totally made me cry. In a good way. And not in that good way that's code for "Endless Pit Of Angst And Despair That Leaves You Too Depressed To Blink But For Potentially Unsettling Reasons You Love It" either.

Not that I don't love those fics (as you may have guessed), but this is such a real, perfectly captured moment. It's like...angst that has an actual healthy purpose! It is there to make you feel better when it's over! You can do things besides wallow in it! Brilliant!
