   The more I think about it (and I do think about it because I'm a political science nerd like that) the more I think the recent ousting of the president of Honduras is NOT a condemnable coup d'etat but exactly what was supposed to happen ( Read more... )

The guy who drives my shuttle from the train station in the mornings is from Honduras.

He said pretty much the same thing you did.

When you are sworn into the military in the US, you take an oath to defend and protect the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It sounds like they were following that exact path, which is their JOB to do.

It sounds like the military and the Supreme Court did exactly what they should have. How is that a coup d'etat? I think you're right, people agree with the principal and that's as far as it goes. Apparently they just don't like it when it applies to them.

Well I'm not surprised the president of honduras doesn't think it does, but I'm really surprised and bothered that people like Obama are condemning it.
