Friday, June 16th, day 43 - This was yesterday and I already don't remember a single thing of note about it. I was just at the hotel in Accra all day. Just caught up on writing and other such things on my laptop.
. I was a bit surprised to find that the United States was actually dwarfed by the number of slaves sent to the British Caribbean possessions, which were dwarfed themselves by the number sent to Brazil by Portugal
I also just learned this recently although it does help assemble some other puzzle pieces of my misspent education.
The way he thrust the book in front of me was almost accusatory, and it was ironic because as an American, which one would assume I am, it would be somewhat exculpatory, but as it happens I'm actually half Brazilian so the accusation sticks better than he could have planned.

Ah I just read the wikipedia plot summary and it sounds like a powerful movie! I'll definitely be on the look out for the movie itself!
