It's a good thing I'm not adverse to eating most things though I do draw the line at Nordic fermented fish that has been buried in the ground. But I do love fresh fish and seafood which made it infinitely easier for me to adapt to Spain.

I was suffering with you as you ate that dish, though. So good description!

Haha I've never tried the "rancid shark" of iceland but I've certainly heard of it. I'm usually willing to try fish dishes but inevitably I usually don't like them .... though oddly I don't mind fish and chips - if the fish has been deep fried it becomes bearable (:

I loved this installment. It's nice to hear the people you shared your time with. I would not recommend ever ever grouping things to suit the writing thematically. A simple few words along the lines of...A few evenings after the fish amala meal Hattrick prepared for us, we all went out to a "Western" restaurant.....

I think you're wise to not dwell on the terrible conditions of that zoo. You could be brutally honest, as you are here, in a nice compact paragraph. Sounds like that entire day was a bit nauseating. :(

The zoo was chosen really because they asked me what I wanted to do on the free day and I was like "see some African animals?" I really wish I had asked to go to a cultural/historical museum that would have been an infinitely better use of my time.

And as to hearing about the people I shared my time with I am rather thinking of ways I can insert them more I think because I agree it's good to have them in there. There were more times we hung out but it's a question of fitting it into the narrative.
