I see nothing wrong with charging a fee for a swarm to someone you don't know. After all - you did the work of getting the bees and then you're passing them along. Yes, you're doing good, but being paid for your expertise is not wrong.
I like your donation solution very much but I see nothing wrong in somebody paying you for a swarm either. You are an expert and people market their expertise!
If it were me, I would ask them to donate if it were someone you knew, but charge for those calling and asking for bees that you do not. If it is ethics you are concerned with, you really don't know how the people you do not know are going to behave.
Question, what is the bottle on the hive about? Are you giving your bees wine? ;)
When I lived in south coastal Georgia, I would watch the bees frantically swarm my basil when I let it bloom, then fly off drunkenly into the house when leaving, as if they were drunk. I have never seen bees get drunk (acting) when drinking basil nectar any where else. I wonder if they would get drunk from wine... but it might make they easier to work with. :)
Mi amor the photos are very beautiful. there are bees in the window of the beach apartment, I am worried that when we return it will be a big swarm, I wish I could give them to you ajajajaj
