I like the painting by your grandmother!

I've never been to the Tufa Towers. I've driven up and down California several times, but managed to miss this area! Though there's a lot of California to drive up and down in.

So much to see, in just California!!

We skirted part of Mono Lake in 2016, on our 2nd trip to the USA for a wedding that was a good excuse for a western roadtrip (California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado & back via the same states, but not the same route!!), but I've never seen these mineral towers... Now I really want to!!

oh Mono Lake is definitely worth a visit! As are the burger places Frosty chalet in (Lone Pine? or the next town up?) and Walker Burger om nom nom nom
