Such beautiful scenery! It almost makes me want to visit California again.

I do love a good biscuit, but I prefer butter and jam to gravy. I also dig dining patios like that.

We drove south through Washington, Oregon and as far as Sacramento before heading east when I was a kid. I remember swimming in hot springs and also eating plums fresh off the tree.

The Alabama Hills are also a great site for rock climbing. I've seen multiple photos of great routes there. Unfortunately, I've never been.

You are making want to do at least the part of your route that you describe here. It's dramatic and beautiful all in one! And it wouldn't be as congested and nerve-wracking as the 5 can often be.
