People say "it's cold!" down in Tasmania and allege the weather is much worse, but from my brief experience, we had a solid week of lovely sunny days in Tasmania whereas at home in Victoria I don't think we've had more than three days of sunny weather in ( Read more... )

Haha yeah, that's my head inside of the barrel of a cannon at Fort Casey, here in Washington. :)

Old cannons are fun, I've got a fair number of pictures around of goofing off on them myself ;)

::googles Fort Casey:: oh hey I think I might have been there! I recall visiting an old coastal fortification just south of Coupeville with my parents in 2010 and it looks like Fort Casey is in the right spot.

I've really enjoyed reading your accounts! And thank you for the map and photo links...they are great! I loved all the animals here.

Thanks for following along! I used to have to actually upload every photo I'd link to so I'd only bother with the best but now that I auto back up from my phone to the google cloud and can link directly from there it's just too easy to link to my picture of every little thing no matter how bad the photo came out ;D

Not really - Salamanca is a massive tourist trap - most of the stuff you can find elsewhere! sounds like a really good trip - even if you did miss some of the good bits!

Oh that's a relief to know. Yeah everyone mentioned the Salamanca market so we felt we really ought to, but none of us are really into shopping at all, not even my mom. We're much more into like seeing two wildlife sanctuaries in one day ;)
