I thought the same thing. After I saw Nokia was for it, I got to thinking all the cellphone accessory companies were going to make a mint off this law, I think there's your answer.

Normally I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I think there's actually a real possibility this has something to do with it.

Wow they actually made it so you couldn't use hands-free either? See that actually makes sense. Although, some people have to use some form of phone while they're driving, such as any company that has to dispatch drivers to people's homes to take care of things. Or like tow trucks and other things that are always on the road. They need an exception but everyone else can wait till they're off the road.
