The PNW is so lovely! I've been to Seattle and to the Oregon Coast. I suppose there are drawbacks that I haven't seen. I ought to visit in November or February and get a feel for how it is then.
Yeah I'm not sure how nice it is in winter. Being as here (southern edge of Australia) is delightful in summer and miserable in winter, and the PNW is delightful when it isn't here, I'm rather toying with the idea of seeing if I can find an excuse to lodge myself in the PNW for a substantial bit of a future northern-hemishpere-summer perhaps.
Wow, Kris, you have a real talent for travel writing! (Which I define as stuff that makes readers, i.e., me, want to drop everything and hit the road.)
Thanks! I do quite try! I was surprised the previous entry to this which I felt like was decent got no comments and I wake up to four comments on this one. And I rather felt like this one fell below what I was shooting for. Funny what sticks and what doesn't. I was hoping to unite more of a cohesive theme with the numerous references to memorials and the afterlife that about wrote themselves in. Have you read any Paul Theroux? He's my traveloguing rolemodel.

I hope things are still going strong, despite the distance. :)
